Where has my Mojo gone?
I think I’ve had the blues…. I haven’t felt like creating, I’ve been just sort of down. Maybe it’s the “Winter blues”, maybe it’s the election…. but I’m feeling like I lost my mojo.
I got some new photo equipment for Christmas, but it took me a little while to use it. On the days when I wasn’t working, I just couldn’t muster the energy to do much more than what I needed to do around the house.
I’m coming out of it. I bought flowers, I got some different plants than I’ve used before, and I found out that botanicals were a trend for book covers this year. Well, THAT’S exciting!
So I set up my new backdrops, and started shooting. I’m in a very clean, minimalist, mood lately. No fuss, no extra items in the scene, just the hero in the spotlight. Part of me wonders if it’s just because I can’t figure out how I want to style things, but when I think of how I want the end result to look, it’s always clean and simple…. so I’m going with it.
I’m pretty happy with what I’ve made, and many are up for sale in my shops
. I think it’s true that motivation follows action. I just have to start.
So what else is going on?
In the last few weeks I had jury duty, but was excused (thank goodness). Chris had his birthday. (Happy Birthday Chris!)
I marked 9 years in South Carolina! (NINE?!?!) I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. I still really miss my friends and family, California - the weather, beach, etc… but I love being here with Chris and our house and life.
I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, but I always have 2 or 3 things I continually aspire to…. Decluttering my life, blogging more, and to keep learning new things.
Do you make New Year’s resolutions? What are yours?SaveSave
